Dr. SANJAY SHARMA
Dr. Sanjay Sharma, business diplomacy academic and strategy advisor on Korea,
is co-founder/managing partner of FutureWise Singapore (Future Skills Acquisition Program).
Prior to this, he served as Director, Maastricht University India Institute, The Netherlands,
and as faculty/guest speaker inThe Netherlands (The Hague University of Applied Sciences,
New Business School, Leiden University and Clingendael Institute), Italy (Sapienza University of Rome),
Korea (Changwon National University, Hanyang University, CatholicUniversity, KIIEP, KITA, and UNESCO),
and India (IIT-Kanpur, ICCR, IIITM-Gwalior, and KRG College).
Educated in Public Policy (Ph.D./Korea), Business (MBA/The Netherlands), Korean Studies (M.Phil./ India), Law
(LL.B./India), International Relations (MA/India), and English Literature (BA/India), Dr. Sharma has advised government
agencies on investment and security on the Korean Peninsula, offered strategy/marketing consulting in learning behavior,
luxury & lifestyle, healthcare, mobile, auto industries, provided consultancy to leading Korean conglomerates (Chaebol) on
their India and Europe operations, and to global firms on their market entry in East Asia, assisted in the setup of Korea
business division at KPMG Netherlands, and developed and taught forward-looking modules i.e. ‘Business in Asia’,
‘Essential Korean’ and ‘Emerging Asian Markets and Global Economic Crisis’ for universities.
Dr. Sharma is a recipient of National Merit Scholarship from the Government of India, Doctoral Research Fellowship from
the Government of Korea, and Research Fellowship from the Academy of Korean Studies, and holds over two decades of
expat experience in the most vibrant economies of East Asia and the EU. He is fluent in Korean, English and Hindi with fair
French, Dutch and a smattering of Esperanto. He has featured in Korean TV documentaries & live radio programs, and was
a columnist for Dutch business magazine The International Correspondent.
TEDx Amsterdam and PechaKucha Maastricht speaker, Dr. Sharma is the organizer of PechaKucha Gwalior, and currently
offers avant-garde skills training in critical areas e.g. Peer Pressure Resistance Skills, Eloquence in Storytelling, Art of
Argumentation, Media & Case Interview Skills, Money Skills, Art of Ambiguity Management, Art of Business Diplomacy,
Diversity and Social Integration, to name a few.
